I’m a 14 year old boy, I’m pretty sure I have acid reflux. I haven’t seen any doctors in maybe 5 years. I’m scared. What will happen if I leave this untreated? Thanks, 10 points to the best answer.

It can lead to cancer of the esophagus.
Cancer probably. Acid reflux is when the opening from your esophagus to you stomach is weak and allows stomach acid to splash backward out of the stomach into the esophagus (sorry I don’t know the correct spelling.)
And that can cause cancer.
I don’t think you should be guessing at something like this. Left untreated acid reflux can cause ulcers, bleeding of the esophogas and eventually lead to cancer. I don’t say that to scare or you or maybe I do. If you suspect something is wrong then you need to be seen by the doctor and expecially at such a young age. It may turn out to be minor and something you can control with a change in your diet. I do know firsthand the worse thing you can have to drink is soda or eating too close to bedtime.
