All of this causes the esophageal sphincter to relax or open allowing the gastric content to squirt out into the esophagus bring about that hot burning feeling around the chest.
Clothing that is usually tight around the waist can also lead to heartburn, especially after meals. This is because the tightness of the cloth causes a raised abdominal pressure, which increases pressure on the esophageal sphincter that is already weakened. It makes the sphincter to relax allowing the acidic stomach content to come out, which leads to this burning sensation on the heart.
Other factors associated with causes of heartburn can be anatomical, or physiological. The causes mentioned here are not exhaustive as several other issues can be responsible for this condition. The most important thing is that when one is aware of some of the causes it will help in avoiding or preventing it to the barest minimum.
