What will happen if I leave my acid reflux untreated?

I’m a 14 year old boy, I’m pretty sure I have acid reflux. I haven’t seen any doctors in maybe 5 years. I’m scared. What will happen if I leave this untreated? Thanks, 10 points to the best answer.
